Maintain a balanced budget!

History repeats itself.

While I feel that my platform is getting more and more obscure I must continue on. I believe that California must keep a balanced budget. This is much easier to write than to do. I have a BA in Economics and I would appreciate the opportunity to spend my time crunching budget numbers rather than doing some factory work where I am mostly exercising my body not my mind. In college I showed my capability to calculate figures in the millions and billions and I am ready and willing to apply my skills to the California budget. I was also a gas station clerk and my numbers were never off. I'm good with money, and I can stand up to rip-off artists. As a clerk I sold a lot of blunt wraps incidentally and that shows where I stand on marijuana legalization in a way, right there making the sale if that is what the people want, and it is legal.

Now one idea I had for public safety and balancing the budget would need to be examined in terms of its legality. Basically I believe it is actually legal under the US Constitution for California to print its own money. And since pot sellers can't bank their money currently under federal law I think we should look into banking that money for legal pot sellers and give them California bills with a big pot leaf on them. Those bills could be exchanged for US dollars freely a kind of shell game, again not sure of the legality, but if it could be negotiated those dollars could be used for good instead of piling up in private safes asking for evil.

I don't agree with every cut to the budget made during Jerry Brown's time as Governor. I certainly think we need to bring back money that was invested in housing construction to keep homes affordable. If we need to raise more tax revenue I'd look to eBay sales as an automatic tax, unlike now, and digital movie and digital video game sales to California residents, as these things are currently not taxed. Clearly those taxes might not raise an additional $1 billion a year to invest in housing so I'd be open to suggestions.
